St Francis Convent School, Khandwa is a Govt. recognized but permanently non-granted English medium school. The School is a Christian minority private institution of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Khandwa, managed by KDES. St. Francis of Assisi (1181/1182 — 1226) was an Italian Catholic friar and preacher who founded the Franciscan Order. Born Into a wealthy merchant family in Assisi. Italy, Francis led a carefree rife as a young man. After a spiritual awakening in his early twenties, he renounced his wealth and embraced a life of poverty and simplicity, dedicated to serving God and others.
In 1209, Francis founded the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans), emphasizing poverty, humility, and care for the poor. He Is also known for his deep love of nature and animals, seeing all creation as a reflection of God's goodness. One of the most famous stories about him Is when he preached to birds and other anl mars, calling them his "brothers and sisters.
Francis also played a role in fostering peace during the Crusades, traveling to Egypt in 1219 to meet the Sultan in an attempt to peacefully convert him and end the conflict. His efforts to live in simplicity and harmony with all living beings earned him widespread respect.
In 1224. Francis received the stigmata, marks resembling Christ's wounds, becoming the first recorded person to do so. He died In 1226 and was canonized as a saint just two years later, In 1228. Today, St. Francis is the patron saint of animals. the environment, and one of the most beloved figures in Christian history. His feast day is celebrated on October 4.
